Parisian Modern-Chic Apartment Decor Essentials

As some of you may or may not know, decorating the apartment was essential shortly after moving to Milan, Italy.

The process did not start as glamorous as portrayed on social media, however, we would even like to pretend it was as easy as a snap of the fingers. We were lucky enough to land a newly renovated apartment in the city center - perfectly located near shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes.

After designing the space over a hundred times, the apartment has finally come together.

In this post, is a curated shoppable list of the exact products we sourced for the apartment and alternatives available in the US. From Italian Design to Chic Parisian - the essential apartment decor.

SOFA

Picking out a sofa for the apartment was a piece of the space that I knew was going to be a focal point.

With the layout of the space, I wanted the living room area and kitchen/dining to feel inclusive with one another and inviting to sit and relax with family and friends.

Parisian and Italian-style apartments do this beautifully. Both with balanced elements of design and creativity. Styling Parisian chic sofas involves selecting plush, luxurious fabrics like velvets and Bouclé in classic hues such as green, charcoal, or cream to evoke elegance.

RUG

The rug was an important piece that I knew was an opportunity for expression and to warm up the space since the floors were tile.

I wanted to still keep the Parisian style but bring in a touch of the past and soften the modern feel of the couch. Vintage rugs exude timeless style due to their unique designs, rich history, and the warm character they bring to a space.

Their worn-in textures and intricate patterns add depth and visual interest, infusing any room with a sense of nostalgia and elegance.

DINING

For the dining set, I wanted to go for a mid-century modern feel and I had to do a little digging since mid-century modern is one of the most sought-after styles currently. Most importantly I was after the furniture that mixed silver metal and wood.

Mid-century design elements with elegant aesthetics create a stylish and nostalgic space. With sleek lines, tapered legs, and vibrant colors reminiscent of the 1950s and 1960s, these sets offer a playful yet sophisticated touch to any dining space. Combining functionality with retro flair, they effortlessly bridge the gap between past and present, making them a popular choice.

BED

For the bedroom space we wanted to have a beautiful undone look while also having modern elements. Including items such as an oversized duvet and linens, soft neutral color palette, and a unique collection of art. The space is for rejuvenation and relaxation.

Parisian chic home decor often feature elegant yet understated color palettes, with soft neutrals like ivory, beige, and gray dominating the space. Incorporating luxurious textures such as velvet, silk, and linen adds a sense of sophistication and comfort to the room. Accents like vintage-inspired furniture, ornate mirrors, and delicate chandeliers complete the ambiance, creating a timeless and effortlessly stylish Parisian retreat.

Parisian modern looks blend contemporary design elements with classic Parisian charm. Sleek furniture with clean lines, minimalist décor, and a neutral color palette serve as the foundation, while accents like geometric patterns, metallic finishes, and statement lighting infuse the space with a touch of modern elegance, creating a sophisticated and cosmopolitan atmosphere.
